charter township minutes 9/17/08

Members Present: Dennis Long, Cindy Olson, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright.

Members Absent: Shawn Kraycs

Others Present: Linda Munsey, Mike Duffy, John Wotring, Paul Olson. 10:00 a.m.

1. Supervisor Wright called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m,

2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

3. Correspondence: (No action required) Monthly building permit list, ordinance enforcement report for august, emergency central dispatch report for august.

4. Motion by Long, second by Olson, to approve minutes of August 20, 2008 as presented. Ayes, four; nays, none, absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

5. Citizens who wish to speak; Mike Duffy. What steps are being taken regarding the back log of unassessed and underassessed properties? Supervisor answered that there is not a back log of these types of properties.

6. Paul Olson, representing the Michigan Township Participating Plan, updated the board on changes in coverage package for the 2008-09 liability package year. Motion by Long, second by Ashton, to approve renewal of MTPP with Municipal Underwriters of Michigan for fy 2008-09 at a cost of $17,848.00. ayes, four; nays, none; absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

7. Motion by Long, second by Olson, to leave the cost to residents for the 2009 compactor decals at $60.00. Ayes, four; nays, none; absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

8. Treasurer’s report for August was read and placed on file.

9. Motion by long, second by olson, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 6748, 6764 thru 6796, liquor inspections $120.00, election inspector payroll $3070.01 for a grand total of $62,639.90. ayes, four; nays, none; absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.

10. Motion to adjourn, carried, at 10:42 a.m. ayes, four; nays, none; absent, one and two vacant positions. Motion carried.
