CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF GRAYLING

REGULAR MEETING

OCTOBER 16, 2007

Members Present: Dennis Long, Cindy Olson, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright

Members Absent: Shawn Kraycs, two vacant positions.

Others Present: Jim Hough

Supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

1. Correspondence (No action required) E-911 Report-Sept., Recycling Report-Sept., Ordinance Enforcement Report-Sept., Building Report List-Sept.

2. Motion by Olson, second by Long to approve the minutes of September 18, 2007 as presented. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

3. Treasurer’s Report for September 2007 was distributed and placed on file.

4. There were no citizens who wished to speak.

5. Motion by Long, second by Olson, to reserve portions of the Grayling Township Improvement Fund Balance for the following purposes: $52,000.00 reserved for roads, $10,000.00 reserved for vehicle replacement, $15,000.00 reserved for compactor replacement. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

6. Motion by Olson, second by Ashton, to support the resolution by the Crawford County Economic Development Partnership supporting the Main Stream America Theme Park Project. (See attachment “A”). Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

7. Motion by Olson, second by Long, to table appointment of a township engineering/consulting firm until the November meeting. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

8. Motion by Long, second by Olson, to re-appoint the following persons to the Grayling Township Planning Commission: Geraldine Hood, Caroline DiPonio, James Cox. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

9. Motion by Long, second by Olson, to re-appoint the following persons to the Grayling Township Zoning Board of Appeals: Barbara Greene, Dale French. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

10. Motion by Long, second by Ashton, to table discussion of the Old Fire Barn until we have more information. Also, authorize supervisor to contact city regarding calling in a consultant to assist in negotiating the City/Township Fire Department Agreement. Ayes, four; Nays, none, Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried.

11. Motion by Long, second by Ashton, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 5805-06,5824-5869, 2203, 2205, and Board and Commission fees of $373.40 for a grand total of $84,464.47. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions. Motion carried. 12. Motion to adjourn by Olson, carried. Ayes, four; Nays, none; Absent, one, two vacant positions.
