GRAYLING TOWNSHIP BOARD

REGULAR MEETING

JULY 11, 2007

7:00 P.M.

Members Present: Dennis Long, Shawn Kraycs, Cynthia Olson, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright.

Members Absent: None.

Others Present: Gaila Gilliland

Supervisor Wright called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

1. Correspondence:(No action required) Chamber News/July, COA Sr. Gazette/July, Ordinance Enforcement Report/June.

2. Motion by Long, second by Ashton, to approve minutes of June 13, 2007 as presented. All ayes, motion carried.

3. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to approve minutes of June 21, 2007 Special Meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.

4. Treasurer’s Report for June was distributed and placed on file.

5. Consensus of Board to authorize Supervisor to notify the City of Grayling that Grayling Township would consider liquidating its 50% interest in the Old Fire Barn on Alger Street for $80,000.00.

6. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to authorize the following local depositories for Grayling Township funds for Fiscal Year 2007-08: Citizens Bank, Chemical Bank, 5/3 Bank, Huntington Bank. All ayes, motion carried.

7. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to appoint the firm of Keskine, Cook, Miller & AlexanderLLP to perform the 2006-07 annual local government audit. All ayes, motion carried.

8. Motion by Olson, second by Kraycs, to appoint Richard Jaskowski as Grayling Township Attorney for Fiscal Year 2007-08. All ayes, motion carried.

9. Consensus regarding stalemate in renewal of Mutual Fire Protection Agreement between the City of Grayling and Grayling Township. Wait another week for response from City of Grayling, then contact legal counsel for a possible special meeting. Current agreement expired 6-30-07.

10. Gaila Gilliland gave a brief update on 4 Mile Rd. theme park scheduled for Public Hearing on re-zoning July 31, 2007.

11. Supervisor noted that the mediation of the S. Horseshoe Trail Maintenance Special Assessment District complaint regarding current contractor has brought about the decision to assign the contract back to Jack Millikin, Inc.

12. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 5549-5593, Board and Comm. fees of $770.00, Liquor Inspections $120.00, for a grand total of $56,295.03. All ayes, motion carried.

13. Motion to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. by Long, carried. All ayes.
