GRAYLING TOWNSHIP BOARD REGULAR MEETING NOV 9, 2005

Members Present: Shawn Kraycs, Dennis Long, Ruth O’Mara, Monica Ashton, Terry Wright.

Members Absent: None.

Others Present: Robert Dixon, David Jager, Curt Marshall.

Supervisor Wright called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

1. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to amend agenda and recess regular meeting to allow executive session regarding Michigan Tax Tribunal case. All ayes, motion carried.

2. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to reconvene regular Grayling Township Board meeting at 7:00 p.m. All ayes, motion carried.

3. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to empower Mr. David Jager, independent appraiser, to negotiate with Grayling Co-Generation Station, on behalf of Grayling Township, regarding their assessment protest with the Michigan Tax Tribunal using the proposal he has developed. All ayes, motion carried.

4. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to approve minutes of October 12, 2005 as presented. All ayes, motion carried.

5. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to approve record of Margrethe Boulevarde Public Hearing (re-convened) on October 12, 2005 as presented. All ayes, motion carried.

6. Treasurer’s Report for October was distributed and placed on file.

7. Correspondence and Reports: (No action required) Chamber News for Nov o5, Recycling Report for Oct. 05, Building Dept Report for Oct. 05, Grayling Twp. Revenue/Expenditure Report through 9-30-05, Charter Communication Franchise Agreement.

8. Motion by Long, second by Ashton, to appoint Terry R. Wright to Grayling Township’s vacant seat on the Grayling Recreation Authority Board. All ayes, motion carried.

9. Motion by Kraycs, second by Long, to set a fee of $30.00 per parcel for applications for Land Division/Split. All ayes, motion carried.

10. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to adopt Residential and Commercial Building Permit Fee Schedule as proposed by Robert Dixon, Grayling Township Building Inspector. All ayes, motion carried. Effective January 1, 2006. (See attachment “A”).

11. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to accept petition from more than 51% of property owners of frontage between Turner Trail and Nottingham Drive requesting re-paving of that section of Ole Dam Road. A public hearing regarding creation of a Special Assessment District to fund the improvement will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2005 beginning at 6:30 p.m. All ayes, motion carried.

12. Motion by Long, second by Kraycs, to approve payment of claims on vouchers 3805, 3818-3821, 3825 through 3855, Board & Comm. Fees $620.00 and Liquor Inspections $120.00 for a grand total of $33,894.36. All ayes, motion carried.

13. Motion by Long, carried, to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. All ayes.
